A couple of years ago my dear old mum moved into the granny flat to be with us. All her banks accepted her change of address by post, (they sent a letter to the old address as a precaution) but not the Halifax. They insisted that she attend a branch in person with photo ID. She had no passport or driving licence, not even a bus pass, at 90+ we drove her everywhere. Had to close the account.
