'ALL' of The Galleries as built in the 1980s will be demolished, which of course will include the central bit with the big clock, escalators and scenic lifts, and the Clock Tower on the corner of the present Market Hall, all will be gone, knocked down, and the underground service area will be filled in with the demolition rubble.

And replaced with flats

There are proposals to build a cinema, hotel and pavilion at the top end of the present Galleries, and the Market Hall will be moved into the old Marketgate, which was built in the early 1970s
