"Debenhams stores are set to close after the failure of last-ditch efforts to rescue the ailing store chain.
It means all 12,000 employees are likely to lose their jobs when the chain's 124 shops cease trading

Debenhams is the main anchor store in the Grand Arcade, so what is going to replace it ?

This may sound a bit premature, but with what is and what has been happening in the High Streets, with the Covid thing accelerating the move on to online shopping, is this the death knell for the Grand Arcade, how many stores would have to close in the Grand Arcade, to make it unviable, leaving the owners with no choice but to close it.

I am sorry to sound depressing about this, but I think the writing is on the wall
