It was Ed Miliband pushing through changes to the way the leader was elected. It became one man one vote. Previously MP’s had 30 % of the vote and prior to that MP’s chose the leader.
Added to that some MP’s nominated JC as leader to make it more of a contest. Afterwards one MP Margaret Beckett said ‘I was a moron to nominate Jeremy Corbin.’
