I did my IAM test in Preston in 1979,you had to do a commentary then, when I was learning in Wigan there was a bobby there most sundays, he was a character, fast forward some 20 odd years and I was in Darby Lane garage having a job done, and a police motor cyclist came in, he spotted the iam badge and we had a chat and I asked him about the bobby who used to come to Wigan, he knew him and told me his name, and said he ended up with a top job with traffic police, could the bobby that day have been BB?
