Ever seen a cement mixer with a diesel engine jumping up and down in one place all day, digging it's own grave, that's one reason there will never be a mass produced 'Smokey Joe' bike.
Several people have tried to make a diesel bike but they come and go but don't stay long. I once saw someone fill a dozer with petrol instead of diesel, and for around two minutes it would push over mountains , and then BANG, ! followed by a deathly silence and a foreman incandescent with rage throwing a massive paddy fit.
