Methanol is a toxic form of alcohol and is known to cause kidney damage, blindness and death. It is often fatal when applied topically or ingested. Sadly, alcoholics have been drinking methanol, perfume and other alcohol based liquids for decades. Their misery is compounded by those who rejoice in the news of their sickness or death, using it in a vain attempt to score a non-existent point.
