Mmm Tom Collins that name rang a bell but I couldn't place it until someone mentioned St Helens. Over fifty years ago when I had my DBD34 Goldie I needed some new bearings for the magdyno and some one suggested Tom Collins. Living in Westhoughton then and having no sat navs it took me a while to find it, but as I remember it was only a small old fashioned place with Methuselah behind the counter, anyway he twizzled round,reached into a drawer and bugger me dead he pulled out two brand new O.S bearings wrapped in grease proof paper.
I was over the moon and couldn't wait to get back home to fix the old girl. Now here is my question, is my mind playing tricks after all these years or was there two T.C.in St Helens.?
