Now there's a challenge: Work out why the Jews have been persecuted - I bet that achievement would be worthy of a Nobel Prize.

I think it is very unusual to encounter an individual Jewish person who will try to exploit the fact that they have such a history of persecution: granted it does happen, but only very, very rarely in my experience.

Corporate attempts by various organisations to pursue their self-interest in this manner is a different matter, and from time to time I have been uncomfortable with their behaviour. But again, I would emphasise, at least SOME of my Jewish friends would also condemn such behaviour.
