Thank you TTS. These places don't adhere to the health and safety we do here which makes goods cheaper to make. Our manufacturing has been decimated by the EU which is why we rely on London financial markets. Why aren't we making our own white goods? A friend of mine in manufacturing (parts for Rolls Royce) says the average age in his foundry is 57. When those skills are gone, they're gone.
One other thing, the carriages for HS2 are being made in Spain and Portugal. We had a perfectly good factory for that in Horwich, now given over to houses.
