Question about The National Archives

Started by: ira taylor (30)

I've found an interesting ref in The National Archives but I have no idea what it means or how I can view it. I'm in Canada so physically visiting Wigan is not going to happen so I'm hoping someone can help me out with two questions:

1. What does this term mean? "Wigan to Orrell. Order for removal of William Taylor, Elizabeth his wife and John, Jane and William their children QSP/1681/21 1753 13 Jan"

2. Is it possible and if so, how can I view this record - http://apps.nationalarchives.gov.uk/a2a/records.aspx?cat=055-q_8-21&cid=1-51-21&kw=william taylor#1-51-21

it geneerally means they were removed from Wigan to Orrell, possibly as they had no income and went to the "Parish" for help.

You could try contacting the office that holds the records by sending an email to:

Does anyone have any idea how much more information this type of record would have? Reason I ask is I've never heard of it before.
