Hello all, sorry for missing yesterday, yes Ray everything's okay so far..nurse called, then a friend, then our Lee called,he was knocked off his bike last Wednesday,( he does a lot of biking) a motorist nearly cut him off Lee swerved came off the bike, someone at the back of Lee said he went five feet into the air,the motorist carried on..Lee broke his collarbone, might have to have it broke again, his arm in a sling now,if it's broke again will have to have a plate put in..he isn't sleeping because of the pain..his bikes broke and helmet cracked which could have been his head, another motorist just missed driving over his head..so he's been ringing two and three times a day.all good news isn't it .ye Gods I'll be glad when this years gone.it never stopped yesterday with prescription being delivered, next door neighbor asking me when I wanted to go shopping, other neighbor calling to see how were..hence the reason I didn't get chance to enter any words.
Anyway I hope you're all doing well, and Vince hope things are okay at your side of the world.

A very good day to everybody.
A cloudy indifferent day here in Blighty, 16C is forecast.
Slept all morning after a breakfast of baked beans on grilled cheese on wholemeal toast.
I’ve had two bad days of ill health.
My hands shake so badly I can’t use a mouse.
I had to get Susan to post the Tuesday quiz and Wednesday cryptic crosswords.
Thankfully, this morning my appetite has returned, I’ve only eaten a light breakfast these last two days, no lunch or tea.

Mo, so very sorry to hear about Flossie.
As if you’ve not got enough on your plate, it’s the last thing you need.
I’ll be thinking of you.
Take care.

Hello all, sorry I haven't had much time to do words today drat..district nurse has been..heart nurse..gas men have been checking everyone's pipes boilers meters etc, this road has been full of machinery, plus digging holes everywhere, side of houses, then coming into house checking..its been bedlam.
Re our little Flossie, she's not really eating for a week or so,going thinner by the day..had to let her sleep in car, went to let her out for her wee in the morning, and I knew..brought her in..with Cliff on blood thinners could keep her in she insisted on going on Cliffs knee and jumping down could have scratched him..she was in pain, rang vets for pets for euthanasia, said they were too busy, gave me a Wigan number to ring..the cost,£344 ,the heart nurse was here and said leave it with me..later in the day,the RSPCA turned up from Manchester the fee £ 25.00 plus some funding so they took her..I just hope they treated her kindly, she was a dear little thing..she came to us 9 years ago..we had Charlie still but took her in..and she's been a treat..why do I bother with animals??? Its just heartbreaking when they have to go..see you tomorrow I hope..thank you our Lizzie.< 3 xx
I must add I knew it was her time, when I went for her at the morning her head was hanging off car seat and her eyes were just staring..bless her.

A very good day to all.
How is everybody doing?
We are plodding through this dreadful Summer and getting by.
I sleep all morning so the house needs a good clean.
The gardens are overgrown but thankfully Terry next door has kept the hedges trimmed, he’s in his eighties, I feel so guilty.
We are set for a few very warm days so we’ll make the most of it.
Lizziekins, hope you are having a good break.
Take care all.

Hello all,Ray..talking of gardens ours is on its way going back to nature, but I'm going to have to do it bit by bit,our Lee has just this half hour gone back to Gateshead,he's a really good help with his Dad,plus if I need anything from Asda he runs me down after making sure Cliffs got everything close to hand because he can't walk now.
I'm going to throw a lot of tubs etc out bit by bit to try and make things easier
I got a letter from my GP to go for my usual thyroid blood test but haven't been able to go anywhere..I completely forgot that it said on the letter that I may have beginnings of type 2 Diabetes..anyway it's all planned....they gave me a number to ring when our Lee comes down next and he'll run me down..come home to see if Cliffs okay then I'll phone him to pick me from the Lineacre...everything is so tiring,I can't just go anywhere at all..but will feel a bit better when our Lizzie's back..take care Ray.

A very good day to everybody.
A dull cloudy nondescript day here in Blighty, 18C.
Slept all morning as per usual
I’m a bit late as the car went for its MOT in Bolton at lunchtime.
Thankfully it passed, but my two rear tyres are slightly cracked in the side walls, they are legal but need to be replaced.
They are 17” Michelins 220mm wide, about £120 each!!!!!!.
We’ve just got back from our next door neighbour Terry’s shop at Tesco Horwich.
We are finding doing a double shop hard work so we may change our big shop to another day.

A very good day to everybody.
A bright sunny cloudy day here in Blighty, 12C.
Another sleepy morning and lunchtime, hence the late post,
We had a drive to Scout Lane Horwich this arvo and had a walk up Walker Fold.
It’s a long gradual uphill path which pulls your bottom muscles and gets you out of breath LOL, then coming down it wrecks your knees!!!!!!
A turkey salad ‘tea’ awaits, maybe with a 75ml glass of summat.

Mo and Vince, hope everything is OK and you’re coping.
Take care.

phase-pipe-pass-span-nape-shape-snap

Well done to Vince with the words.
Our Mo will be along soon.

Lizzie, 21C sounds perfect.
As you say, Christmas will be very different this year, I don’t think we’ll get to see our Kit and hubby till next year.
Take care and keep safe.

Mo, so very sorry to hear of your situation at the moment, I’ll be thinking of you.

A big hello to everybody.
A horrible wet dark miserable day here in Blighty, only 11C.
Another sleepy morning and lunchtime, I have no energy.
Too wet to walk this arvo, so we had a drive through Standish to Appley Bridge and back home via Upholland and Pemberton then Beech Hill.
I’m just about to make myself a light spinach salad with Tesco’s salmon canapés, 12 little circular discs of salmon mixed with pureed ‘stuff!!!!
I may partake of a very small glass of Merlot.

Mo, I’ve been thinking of you these last few days.
Please keep us up to speed with Cliff’s progress.
It may be that you are having a break from looking after him,
Take care and have a nice rest.

Vince, hope you are OK.

Hello all..we've just got back from the Infirmary, was rung at nine this morning to get quick as possible,he's having palliative care and near the end..stayed most of the morning, came home, back again afternoon, just got back third time,he's out of it bless him, just waiting for phone calls all the time, they put him on the covid ward even though they said they hadn't got his results, you wouldn't believe what we had to wear..pinnies..gloves..different masks going out pinnies in this bin masks in that bin,if you wanted the loo strip off then do it all again..he's still out of it,but did react with his eyes to a couple of things we said..what a day..but our Lee will have to get back up til now..but neighbors again have said anywhere I want running just to knock on door..they've been brilliant..so it's just a waiting game..cliff must be strong the way he's hanging on bless him..so that's where we're up to now..I will let you know tomorrow how things turn.x..take care everyone..and thank you our Lizzie.xx <3

Mo, I received a PM from Lolly last night where she posted me your details of yesterday’s events with Cliff.
To be honest it was late at night and I was too upset to reply.
I have just read your post of this morning.
From me and Susan we are very sorry for your loss, I have tears in my eyes as I type.
Our thoughts are that Cliff has been ill for months and now he is free of pain.
Lots of love from me and Susan, we’ll be thinking of you.

Lizzie, hiya, hope you and your family are well.
Here are my thoughts.
We seem to have lost Marie maybe through technical problems.
Vince is looking after his wife who has health concerns and he has not been posting.
Our Mo has had the most awful few months with her hubby, and finally loosing him today, so I don’t think she’ll be posting for a while.
It seems to me to be futile for you to do the anagrams just for me.
I love doing the anagrams but it seems to me we should stop doing them for the time being.
Hope you understand.
Take care and stay safe.

Lizzie, Lolly the moderator over on Wigan Peers has just seen my post on Wigan World about discontinuing the anagrams.

Vince, I thought we’d lost you with you looking after Shirley.
As you can see I suggested to Lizzie that we take a break for a while.
Lolly on Wigan Peers saw my post on Wigan World and suggested that she may want to post the anagrams over on the Peers to get some interest from the WP members.
As you can see I’ve posted to Lizzie does she want to post the anagrams on WP.
I would be very happy for me and you to continue posting, I get a great deal of pleasure having my lunch doing the words.
It’s got a little convoluted!!!!!
Another option of course is for Lizzie to post the anagrams on both WW and WP.
Let’s see what Lizzie decides.

Yes, Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester of which we are part, has been in a war of words with Boris Johnson, Burnham wants to stay on tier 2 ‘high’ alert, Johnson wants to raise our level to tier 3 ‘very high’. I think Johnson will get his way.

It seems that as from Friday 23rd October 00-01 am Greater Manchester will be on tier 3 level.
You are not allowed to meet socially with anybody who is not part of your household, or support bubble, indoors.
You cannot meet in private or pub gardens, but can meet in parks, beaches, countryside or forests, as long as you are not in a group of more than six.
Pubs and bars must close unless they are serving substantial meals.
Alcohol can only be served as part of a meal.
People are being advised not to travel into or out of Tier 3 areas, other than for work, education, youth services or because of caring responsibilities.
Casinos, bingo halls and betting shops, adult gaming centres and soft play areas have closed in all Tier 3 areas.
Things are grim.

A bright sunny day here in Blighty, 11C is forecast.

Mo, sorry to here you are not well, keep warm and lots of hot drinks.

Lizzie, I absolutely hate thunder and lightening !!!!!!!!
We all know that lightening is the destructive force and lightening is the displaced air crashing back, but he combination is frightening.
Stay safe and cool.

Hello all,got my story a bit wrong,Lee rang in work told them he felt like he had a cold possibly flu, possibly covid, they told him to stay at home,he sent for a thermometer, his temp and mine was fine,no loss of taste or smell..he then went for covid test at Chorley..positive..he passed it on to me,boy the headaches, paining limbs,no energy..non stop cough..feeling very low,at least not had to be Hospitalised thank God..roll on next year..Ray I know you don't like thunder and lightening,I love it,I'm sure I'd feel a bit better if it did happen...so for now I'm stuck in again, and so is Lee..the only place we've been this past week is Asda..so..
