A very good Monday to everybody.
A brightish cloudy day here in Blighty, quite cool when I brought the bins in, only 10C forecast, with a chance of afternoon rain.
I’ve racked some more wine this morning, boo to the housework LOL!!!!!
Susan has had her hair done with the mobile this morning, so we tend not to do a walk, so we’re having a mooch in Wigan.

Hope you all have a good day.
I bet Mo is getting some ‘bits-and-bobs’ in this morning LOL

dastardly-dastard-salad-sadly-star-salty-altar.

Well done to Marie for starting us off.
Loads more for Mo and Vince.

Lizzie, thanks for our ‘shiny’ new thread
Spring is in the air here in Blighty, high teens temps forecast for Friday.
We all know of course that Winter may/could/will return at any time.
Thanks for the start of our week’s wordage.

Lizzie, I am a silly old sausage and can’t remember joining Instagram, but it seems unlikely that someone would pick my identical username.
I have tried to log in to Instagram this morning with no success.
I chose the ‘I’ve forgotten my password’ route and picked a new password.
When I try to log in it is proving problematic, and won’t let me tick the ‘terms and conditions’ box.
I’ve been trying for 20 minutes and just falling short of throwing my lappy out of the window!!!!.
I’ll keep trying.
Thanks for our midweek wordage.

Hello all it's a miserable wet day here..what a night we had last night..Cliff
was coming diwnstairs......I heard an almighty noise,he'd fallen down the
stairs,I picked him up..he was cursing himself,I sat him in the chair, then he
passed out with the most awful look on his face,I rang for an ambulance,he
came to telling me cancel it I'm not going to Hospital..the he started
vomiting..then went fast asleep..the chappie on the phone had told the
paras so they arrived..all sorts of checks were done,..but he was adamant
he wasn't going anywhere..told him passing out and vomiting weren't good
signs but no..he was staying put..they were great stayed about an hour or
more, another Dr rang but same answer ..No..I was told that if he started
snoring while asleep I had to wake him up and ring them again..anyway,he's been fine since..he's not even sore anywhere...God
bless the paras, they were brilliant, said they were coming back for another
Cappuchino today.

Well, I have been a bit remiss in not keeping my eye on our lovely thread.
Hope you are all well.
As I often say, Blimey it’s Friday again.
We’ve had the usual humdrum ordinary week of domestics and just getting through life!!!! LOL.
Looking at your posts, hasn’t the weather been dreadful!!!!!!.
The worst thing has been not being able to get our afternoon walks in, I’m sure we’ll soon get back to normal.
As you say Mo, the only good thing is it’s been good for flag flying LOL!!!!
I hope Vince managed a round of golf in this week.
This arvo, our fortnightly trip to the butchers, sorry Mo , and then we just may get a local walk in.

The ink is just drying on tonight’s quiz, so hope you can join in Mo.
I’m not sure if Marie goes to away matches, but Wigan Warriors are at Warrington tonight, so hope Marie can do the quiz.
Here’s wishing you all a great weekend.

Vince,I have a Magnum every time we go there..there's not much point
saying no to Dave..that's why I don't go to his soirées,he just keeps plying
me with one drink then another,he's murder.he invites twenty odd people
three times a year..and what a spread he puts on.

Hello Marie..yes we've lots of memories there haven't we.

I think I should rephrase the word plying with giving..everyone knows and
likes him..he just likes giving hence the do's he's always giving..he spends
a fortune on them,he's well known for his generosity...I don't go simply
because more than one drink knocks me out...I hope that makes it clearer.

The BBC North West News showed pictures of a moorland fire round Rivvy last night, which was brought under control, so hopefully no problems there.

As usual, well done to Marie for starting us off.
A really low word count today I hope Mo and Vince can do better than me.

Lizzie, just to let you know, I signed up join Instagram recently, but within a couple of days I got two ‘disturbing’ e-mails telling me that someone who is not is not on my usual devices is trying to access my account, so I am a little concerned to use it.
I’ll do a little Googling to see if I can sort it.
Thanks as ever for our Monday wordage.

Ray, we can travel anywhere in Greater Manchester on the Train and tram and anywhere in the Country on the bus with our Bus Passes. The trams in Backpool used to be free but now it's just residents of Blackpool. But the bus is free. I can go to Manchester on the train then on the tram to Bury Market. Brilliant. We have to pay from Appley Bridge when going to Southport but it's still cheap at £ 6 return. Sorry if everyone knew this.

A big hello to all.
A cloudy but thankfully warmer day here in Blighty, 13C forecast.
A lazy morning doing nowt.

We are a little concerned as we are experiencing scam/nuisance phone calls, we’ve had more than a dozen this morning.
Thankfully we have a caller display, so we don’t answer them, and we have a BT service where we can block them, but we think they keep trying with different numbers.
Just be careful out there folks.

Yesterday was probably one of the worst days of this Winter!!!!!!!, cold, windy and thoroughly wet.
Today looks promising, so we’re off up Rivvy for some fresh air.

Mo, hope you’re taking things easy, see you on the quiz tonight.

handed and didn't fancy having anybody doing things for me..but..I've been reading that I could have an injection that would help..so that's next on the
cards..I love painting anywhere and am itching to do the kitchen paintwork.

A very good day to everybody.
A bright sunny cloudy day here in Blighty, 14C forecast.

Well, what a day.
When I got the car out of the garage this morning, I had a flat front tyre.
It has alloys with a lockable wheel nut which I’ve never had to deal with before.
Thankfully we have breakdown cover, so my insurance company sent a mechanic to remove the damaged wheel and fit my spare wheel, there is no way I’m rawlin’ and mawlin’ with it.
Long story short, I have a deep cut right through the tyre side wall, so a new tyre required.
The tyres are big, 225mm wide on 17” rims, so a bill of £140 when I get it fitted tomorrow.

Mo, I’ve had such a stressful tiring day I couldn’t trek round our back garden LOL !!!!!

Marie, Hindley History Society is about local history, and also sometimes national history, as opposed to family history.
Last night the talk was ‘Flowers through the ages’, most interesting.

Well done with the words everybody, I can’t add to the total.

Lizzie, good to know you finally got some worthwhile rain, I’m sure it will green everywhere up.
Thanks for our Tuesday wordage

PS - I have been trying to post since 4-00pm, it won't send for some reason.

A very good day to everybody.
A bright sunny with a little cloud day here in Blighty, 9C at the moment.
A busy morning at cardiac class, I worked hard today, so I may be sore in the morning.
Because of our car problems this week we’ve not shopped, so it’s our Big shop at Sainsies in Leyth this arvo.

Mo, you’ve done very well to get your car through the MOT, I think you said that Cliff does all the servicing , so full marks to him for looking after it.
Vince, seems like you are ‘chief cook and bottle washer’ for the next few weeks, hope you can cope LOL!!!!!

sine-issue-minus-misuse-mink-kisses.

Well done with the words Marie.
A low word count today, but hopefully some left for Mo and Vince.

Lizzie, as you have posted, yesterday’s 9 letter was a new word on me too.
It’s good to learn new words and keep the old grey matter active.
Enjoy your cool before the heat, I’m sure you’ll cope.
Thanks as ever

Hello all,it's a lovely hot day..

Ray,I've just been laughing at your comment on the twisting the leg thread
on WR..Have you tried this one..Get a peice of paper.
Draw a curvy path on it.
Put a mirror at the top of the paper facing you so that you have the reflection of the path towards you.
Now try and draw the path on the paper, while looking at the reflection.
It's brilliant...if you can do it that is.lol

A very good Monday to everybody.
A cloudy but bright day here in Blighty, 15C forecast.
A lazy morning doing nowt, I have no energy today.
This arvo a walk up to our town centre to pick up my prescription.

Mo, hope your painting is coming on OK, Robert Mitchum sounds like a really interesting subject.
Well done to Marie, it was a very close score on Saturday for the Warriors, but thankfully a win.
A mediumish word count today, so hopefully loads more loads for Our Mo.
Enjoy your golf today Vince.

sail-squalid-laid-lady-laud-daisy-dial-dual.

Lizzie, hope you get the rain you desperately need.
I can relate to your greengrocer story as our local shop shut down a couple of years ago, the owners were retiring, so we too now give our money to the supermarkets.
That said Sainsbury’s does have good produce, but I would rather support a local business.
Thanks for our Monday wordage.

Hello all..it's lovely weather now..just been for a couple of fine brushes for
my painting..one thing you can't go cheap on.

Ray,yes it's coming on..you'll probably think I'm stretching it a bit,but
whenever we've watched a film with Robert Mitchum in,Cliff always says
"I can only see your Dad every time I look at him",its true my Dad was so
much like him.

Marie,I'll try and send a photo by email when it's finished.

Have a good game Vince..don't forget your cream.

Thank our Lizzie,as Marie and Rsy say..we have shops closing down left
right and centre..I don't think you'd recognise Wigan now..we only have one
decent shoe shop..they're all in the Supermarkets now..in fact nearly all
good shops have been taken over by them.I don't really know what's in the Grand Arcade..I don't go there if I can help it.xx💜

A very good day to everybody.
A bright sunny day with some cloud here in Blighty, 17C forecast.
A busy morning in the garden, I’ve scrarified the lawn.
This arvo our usual ‘big shop’ in Leyth.

Mo, I was interested to see your post about the ‘Ambulance’ TV programme and the song ‘Golden Slumbers’.
I know you’re not a Beatles fan, but it was written by Paul McCartney and first recorded by The Beatles on their ‘Abbey Road’ album.
I have to say the version by Ben Folds is better.

Well done as usual to Marie for starting us off.
A high word count today, so loads more for Our Mo, hope Vince can join us, it seems his internet is indeterminate.

Lizzie, I was interested in an unusual word you posted in yesterday’s solutions.

‘Udal’
Law, a form of freehold possession of land existing in northern Europe before the introduction of the feudal system and still used in Orkney and Shetland.

‘More knowledge’ as Dustaf would say.
Hope you get your much needed rain.
I do seem to have ‘papped on’ today!!!!! LOL
Take care.

Hello all,Ray,it may sound strange but I remember hearing the end of that
song before but never the beginning and do recall it was the Beatles..I do
like Paul Mc as a person,it's just the group never did anything for me at all,
I love the backing of Ben Folds version, and I can hear the cello.

I think Vince will be busy packing things for their hols.

Our usual spur-of-the-minute decision to go to The Trafford Centre.

Hello again.
We got back from The Trafford Centre late afternoon, tired from driving and walking, but after a brew and a fish salad tea I’m feeling better.
At the moment the whole area around The Trafford Centre is one big building site, as they are extending the Metrolink to a new terminus there.
You never know, in the future, we may end up going there by tram.

Mo, it’s hard to believe, but it’s coming up to our Kit’s first wedding anniversary, and by that token, it must be nearing your sons anniversary.
Today we have bought them a First Wedding Anniversary card and a ‘John Lewis’ gift token to buy ‘stuff’ for their new house.
Mo, you must be a real ‘Rock Chick’ LOL!!!!!!, I don’t think I know a single song by Bon Jovi.

Marie, it’s not sad missing being on your laptop, I live on mine.
I have considered buying a tablet but I DO love my 17” screen size.
My eyesight close up is not good, but my distance eyesight is very good (for my age).

animator-amor-amino-amir-roam-marina.

I also have :-
Martian, but it is capitalised, is it allowed?

Well done to Mo and Marie with your words.
I suspect Vince is ‘in transit’ LOL.

Lizzie, for your info, The Metrolink is a tram network around Greater Manchester, very smart, and much better than the buses or trains.
So pleased you got some much needed rain, hope your water tanks got filled or partly filled.
Thanks for our midweek wordage, always appreciated.

A very good Friday day to you all.
A cloudy day after a damp start, here in Blighty, only 10C forecast.
A busy morning cleaning, I don’t like doing it, but there is a certain satisfaction of a ‘job well done’ at the end.
This arvo our butchers shop, which we’ll walk to weather permitting.

Mo, I found a really good video on ‘youtube’ of Bon Jovi singing ‘Bed of Roses’, I did enjoy it.
I know nothing of them at all, and thought they were just out-and-out rockers, but that is a lovely ballard with some brilliant guitar playing, thanks for that.

Lizzie, I shall have to be more careful in future with my choice of words, slapped wrist!!!!!! LOL

It is amazing how many different words there are out there...this is why it is so good to expand our word bank...😊...also if you play Scrabble...you are a lot better equipped than others ...😀😀

Our Maureen, I have very sensitive teeth...I wouldn’t think it is the floss as I also floss twice a day plus again for annoying seeds and bits...but just incase it isn’t ..... I use a sensitive toothpaste called Sensodyne Gentle Whitening ...and it controls the nerves that give you pain ...it is quite expensive over here but well worth the money ....you can rub it on your teeth and gums at night also as an extra barrier against the pain ...it worked quite quickly for me, so maybe it may help you too...💜xx

love to know the name of the one you get.
Have started another painting while I'm waiting for Robert Mitchums shirt

Well, we’ve managed to get through another week, but with no words LOL!!!!
Mo, we didn’t get the clematis on Wednesday, Bents are promoting plants that are good for bees, it seems our native species are in decline, so we bought a British heather plant which is good for scent and bee friendliness.
Good to see you are enjoying your painting.
The Friday Night Pub Quiz is ‘in the can’
We had a trip to Wigan yesterday, always enjoyable.
We posted our Kit a ‘first wedding anniversary’ card, with a John Lewis gift token inside so they can buy themselves something for their new home.
They have finished the Market Place redevelopment in the town centre, and while I think it looks OK and is an improvement I am not impressed with the finished slopes of the paving, they have made them in my opinion far too steep and are uncomfortable to walk along.
Today we are having a mooch in Leyth.
