H & M point motors

I have come across some H & M point motors, thought I might use them on My layout, But no instructions with them does any one know how to wire them up.

If they are the kind of thing that I remember, there are three connections, the centre one being a common return, and the other two come from either end of the solenoid. In effect this produces two solenoids in line with one another, and if you apply the switching voltage momentarily to either end connection, the soft iron armature (movement of which changes the points) is drawn into that particular section of the solenoid.

If that makes no sense, then maybe you have something other than what I am thinking of!

From memory Cindy the terminals marked 6 & 7 usually had a linking wire between them connected to common as priscus said and 1 & 2 were for the individual voltage applications for switching.
RM Web has significant discussion in the Electrics section.
Also, like Peco motors best operated from only momentary switching, don't just apply and leave voltage on, it tends to get smelly.
