Lost Knowledge
I've lost a bit of knowledge that I knew.
I've mentioned something on here about theatrical makeup and numbers given to particular colours.
These numbers are part of an expression. Something not unlike all at sixes and sevens.
But not that. Phrase meant you could tell a theatrical by the color of their skin.
I think greasesticks are the American term for the individual 'crayons'.

I recently heard it on a programme about variety shows. 'The Story Of Variety With Michael Grade'
One person mentioned how you could always spot a variety artist (off duty), as they had a hue to their faces due to the 'five and nine'.

Google tells me:
Five is Ivory.
Nine is Brick Red.
