There was a car advert I found on the net once, Bernard Manning said at the end, 'Where Customer is King'
Damned if I can find it again. Anyhoo...back to your thread.

I've got a brain jam with

"As you walk through the door, your pound's woth more"

Second line was

"At Williams' (Or something), where else?"

Steady on, Tonker.

That's a bit fuzzy round the edges.

And there's no mention of Wigan on that particular map.

"there's no mention of Wigan on that particular map"

Why should there be? It's a rather nondescript place after all!

You'd be surprised how many times Wigan appears on the national weather maps, you cheeky git!

At which sight, there are loud 'Hurrahs', chez Dostaf.

^^^^^^ But no pie waving.

I don't subscribe to that.

Every bas...Blighter in Weatherfield has been to Wigan. Ask Rita Fairclough when next you see her!

Do you really cheer, Dostaf?

And I don't subscribe to getting pie-highed either.

Yes, Jo Anne.

Cries of "Look that's us!" abound.

Actually I lookd into something recently about a BBC Merseyside banner. I thought we'd been misrepresented, but it was Widnes.

Wigan's often gets a mention on CBBC by one of the presenters - Hacker The Dog.

"If I had a book I would call it Hacker's Guide to Wigan. Because I would write about all the high spots of Wigan of which there are some. Well, I say book it would be more of a pamphlet, but it would be two-sided, depending on the size of the font. Thanks. From me Hacker, the dog, off the television."

He comes from Wigan (his puppeteer, too) and there's mischief in his frequent hometown mentions, but I think it's mingled with pride.

I was previusly unaware of him, Jo Anne.

734 pages of threads since you joined WW, Dostaf - and that's on General alone.

(It would have been even more if it wasn't for the hackers(?) this summer - 'The server was under attack on Friday from Beijing and the Ukraine.')

Strange that you should mention that, Jo Anne.

I was only counting mine the other day.

Nearly 100 Caption comps.

40 threads per page.

I've just counted how many threads I've started on General since joining - 378. They've not always got a great reception though.
