long grass

We know the council are cutting back on grass cutting has debated before on WW,But to leave long grass/flowers on the approach to an island is dam site dangerous.When approaching the a49/junct25 island at landgate coming from Ashton the council have cut the grass but left a natural grass/flower barrier on the right side of the approach to the island but have made it where you are feet away from the junction before you can see any vehicles coming round the island.You should be able to see the traffic flow from your right but you cannot because of this grass an accident waiting to happen

No luckly the heavy rain and wind flattening down the flowers/grass so you can see past this barrier.

Re-report it as it can become a hazard again, Peter.

I've had some positive experiences with the Council's Environmental Services.

They sorted out some problem areas local to me - sometimes it just takes a bit of reminding.

Council cannot be A-sed to reply to my e-mail so what chance have we of getting grass cut

Peter - I've used the Online Reporting Form in the past, and the council have always rung me up in response and then looked into my concern.

This is the form I have used,knowing the council they will wait till the flowers/grass die back then send someone to cut it

I have often use the online reporting and usually matters are sorted, but the point I always make when they phone back is 'why when hundreds of council employees will have passed the issue in question, just like the above with grass and sight lines, has it not been reported internally often they will say they have noticed what I am reporting and done nothing about it

At long last got a reply to my request told grass/flowers left like that on purpose to slow traffic down on approach to island and would be cut back in about 6 weeks.So line of sight to traffic from right does not matter has long as vehicles slow down,and what happens when grass/flowers are cut can traffic suddenly speed upIf traffic management is involved why not put a barrier up like there is on the other side of the island and this will do the job on a permanant bases.

They expect you to believe that dross.

Peter P - I would keep hold of the email/letter. If there was to be an accident there the council may be held accountable.
