Actress to bishop

Where did the phrase come from
What do you think the actress said to the bishop apart
from "oh thats a big one". or "Ive bent over backwards to help you.

"I don't think that will fit as the actress said to the bishop".
The Americans caught up later with 'That's what she said'.
'I've bent over backwards to help you.' 'That's what she said'

Trust you to come up with a hard one.

I can't quite put me finger on it.
