I blame these tabloid newspapers - the old Daily Herald lasted a week

Cindy the amount of paper used to make toilet/kitchen roll as over the last few years gone smaller. Toilet rolls when I was working in the industry used to be on average 280 sheets to the roll over the years these went down to 260 then 240 sheets now you are lucky to get between 180-200 sheets to the roll, Also the cut width has also gone downSame with kitchen towels they used to be 70/75 sheets to the roll now some are down to 45/50 sheets per roll. The latest kitchen roll now are even perforated at about 4 inch wide instead of 7-8 inches , We were asked to trial these about 5 years ago and no body liked them.

Depending which brand some appear to be not as wide, others seem to have a bigger cardboard tube thus not needing as much on the roll to look to have the same number of sheets. Price rise by the back door again.
