The Late Peter Yates Birthday coming up soon.

Wish Yates Wine Lodges still honoured his bequest: the Birthday Port, which was at a stunningly low price.

Have posted on here in the past about the stuff.

I think they no-longer do it.

Googling certainly did not find it, and the last mention I could find of it on line was some bottles on eBay, changing hands at collectors prices!

From daily mail 1996

A LANCASHIRE man is distilling whisky in Wigan and selling it to . . . the Scots.

Jeff Hampson, a qualified brewer, began making his Red Rose Lancashire Whisky ten years ago. Now, with three staff, it turns out 50 cases a week at around [pounds sterling]13 a bottle, some of which goes to bars and restaurants in Scotland.

If memory serves the Hampsons ran Potter's herbal remedies.

They did i-spy, though the whisky was brewed and distilled in Burnley. It is now a collectors item.

Yes, Peter, was a bit of a wild black sheep apparently.

I doubt this whisky would be glugged.
