But there was no cheating!
"We discussed it but morally I decided it was not right," said Gatland............"But in the spirit of the game, in the spirit of a World Cup semi-finals, I didn't think that was the fairest or the right thing to do."
You want someone sacking for ‘thinking’ of cheating!
The only ‘cheat’ on that field was the referee who issued a red card instead of the expected warning or yellow card

If that statement had come from the England Football Manager Fabio - all hell would have broken loose in the press in particular - same can be said for the England Rugby Teams antics down-under.

chatty are you saying if say you were the manger of a football team you would cheat to get to a final?
Replied: 18th Oct 2011 at 13:08
No, i'm saying i can think what i like about anything.

A fair few people would be in Prison if thoughts could be read.

Kellysdad – you are so distant from the game
Who will sack Gatland? He is revered by the Welsh and so is Shaun
First coach to be sacked should be Martin Johnson – England cheated on and off the pitch!
Replied: 18th Oct 2011 at 14:25
The Welsh game was ruined by the ref's decision.
Replied: 18th Oct 2011 at 15:00
revered by the welsh,do you think by admitting he thought about cheating he has cast himself in agood light?i think he will be frowned upon from now on and so he should,if he thought about cheating he was willing to cheat given the opportunity, wigvet i'm not anti welsh or anti union i'm anti cheating it seems that by your posts you are not.
gwim you are spot on about thoughts getting people in jail
i'd like to see people on here phone the police and say they are thinking of blowing a plane up and see what happens!

'he will be frowned upon from now on'

Warren Gatland doesnt sound very welsh when he opens his big gob, but kellysdad is correct he should be sacked,
Replied: 18th Oct 2011 at 16:04
Come off it
He ‘thought’ about cheating and therefore he should be sacked
I thought about going to bed last night with Sienna Miller;
should the wife kick me out?
Replied: 18th Oct 2011 at 16:26
of course she should
he should be sacked for opening his big gob and mentioning it that is called bringing the game into disrepute.

Gwim - I've more chance of going to bed with Max Miller!

What about two members of the England training staff being reprimanded for changing the balls?
It would appear that Gatland was not his own!

what do we call diving in the penalty area or waving your hand about after a foul as if you have a small card in it,answer CHEATING,what about jumping up and down like the tackler,s still hold of you or staying down when your face has been brushed by a tackler,s hand claiming you have been hurt in the tackle answer cheating and we see it every week. professional sport is ridiculed with it.even cricket has cheats in the game.golf is the only sport where pro,s dont cheat.

Warren Gatland is a Kiwi.
Warren Gatland admits that he 'considered' cheating.
The English team DID cheat.
There is a BIG difference !
Replied: 18th Oct 2011 at 20:08
CHEATING watch the dives taken in Barclays premier league if you want to see cheating, thats on the field, not thinking about it of the field
Replied: 18th Oct 2011 at 21:41
the fact is he thought about cheating, therefor he is not honest enough to remain in the job? go to your boss tommorow and say i'm thinking about robbing the safe or whatever and see what he says! just because its only thoughts does not make it right.

Replied: 18th Oct 2011 at 22:47
we've all had bad thoughts but if i was in a position of trust i would be expected to behave better, and i certainly would not make them public when i did not need to

kellysdad :-
Have you ever thought about becoming a priest ?
Replied: 19th Oct 2011 at 07:02
dennis i've thought of being many things, but a priest is not one of um dennis i think, there i go again that if someone in a position of trust thinks about cheating he should not be in such a position.
Replied: 19th Oct 2011 at 10:37
Kellysdad a priest? He'd never be out the confessional box!
Gatland: ‘WE discussed in the box..... But in the spirit of the game, in the spirit of a World Cup semi-finals, I didn't think that was the fairest or the right thing to do."
Have you got that: THEY discussed it (that is the four coaches in the box) and HE decided no way!
And that is a sacking offence!!
Tactics? – YES Cheating? – NO
And for the final word....
‘The former England coach Dick Best has told the BBC he is amazed Gatland did not cheat, as it goes on all the time in the sport’
Replied: 19th Oct 2011 at 13:04
i never said i was without sin but i will say i've never cheated anyone or cheated to win anything
and why even discuss it in the 1st place? you can bet your last quid if everybody in that box agreed he would have cheated?
surely he knew it was wrong to cheat before he thought about cheating so all that buncum about it not being right for the game is jus that BUNCUM!he knew very well what he would have done given the green light the mans a cheat and needs sacking!
