Just over 6000 tonight

Started by: jay_1 (14715)

Just got back and thank god that there were Latics people boosting the attendance.

Why won't the Wigan people come out for big games like these?I'm disgusted.

I guess it means that Wigan Athletic truly are our towns team.I try and fight the RL's corner on this website but after this,i've got to hold me hands up and say the people of Wigan's main interest is in those might boys in blue.

Why can't we attract 7000 fans for an all or nothing game.

I'm upset tonight,i've finally come to the conclusion the Wigan people just don't care about WiganRL.

Wigan has always been first and foremost a league town. I hope it always will be. The dollar or in UK the pound is under oressure and many peoople cannot afford to go to a game......

I hope I am right. Wigan is RL.

How is that Kameras?

If you add up all the Utd,Liverpool,Everton,Bolton,City fans to the Latics majority, you still say it's a Rugby town?!!!

With just over 6000 on in a sudden death play off game! Please try and use logic in your arguments.

I'm not anti-rugby Tom just amused by some of the reaction, admit it, you must find it a bit funny

Some of the rugby lads have propaganda down to a fine art!

Some of my mates went tonight and they were baffled by the ones who didn't bother to go. I'm the same with the latics, what do people in this town want?

What are attendances like when the Latic's play a non season ticket game against the non Premiership teams with little or no away support?

I seem to remember 3,700 against Watford or was it Walsall.

Some of you football supporters could end up with egg on your faces, when the Latic's are eventually relegated, evn more so if they drop below the Championship.

This isn't a minor cup game,DAFTY.

This is a game they needed to win to have a chance of being super duper league champions.

Why didn't people turn out.

Jay 1, I totally agree with you, can't really understand why the fans didn't turn up, it was one of the lowest attendances this season, if not the lowest, the attendance for the Saints game last week was also well down.

Did you attend?

Did you go to the everton or spurs game troll

As for attendances there was more on for a carling cup game on a tue night involving a championship team than was on on a sat afternoon between 2 premiership teams

So low life lying troll stop embarrassing yourself and your family

Daffy i'd love to support the Worriers but they have done nothing but bring shame on this town for years.
I'm tired of reading about the disgraceful behaviour of Worriers players.

Ok,i must admit i quite like watching rugby league but i can't find it within me to support the worriers.
Mainly because of their idiotic anti latic supporters.
So i've come to the decision im going to take the family to watch St Helens.New stadium/new season tickets maybe?

Just when i thought that club couldn't bring anymore shame on my town.
I was thinking of offering the club my support by going to games again
but i've had a rethink.I think that's me done with WiganRL forever.

With all the born and bred football fans of Wigan that are Latics fans Man Utd fans Liverpool fans Everton fans and Man City fans. Would a rugby league fan please explain to me why he thinks Wigan is a "Rugby Town" because this one baffles me.

Another thing that baffles me. This so called world club challenge in rugby league. How many countries of the world actually take part to contest this trophy.

Rio 2 countries take part in the MLB world series although at points in the past it's been 3 USA Canada and Mexico.

You could argue the world club has teams from England, Wales, France, austrailia and new Zealand.

Blame it on all the many special non season ticket games that the Warriors have with them being one of the top clubs.

A problem the Latic's do not have.

As for the World Cup Challenge, its a game between the champion club of our game and Australia. A bit like a club from Europe playing a club from South America.

As for all the born and bred Wiganers being football fans, what percentage actually go to a game and how many aqre just armchair or pub supporters?

A lot of Warriors fans are also supporters of the big football clubs.

Ruddy I never mentioned Latics. My point is that Wigan is a Football town and not a Rugby town and the fact that no one has given me a valid reason to state otherwise then I rest my case. This falacy of it being a Rugby town is just lazy journalism hyped up by the media. If someone gives me a valid reason then thats fair enough and I will accept it but i genuinly believe that Football is the no 1 sport in this town.
