Sad to see a professional footballer like Joey Barton behaving like a girl.

Although, saying that, if he had touched someones face he'd have been sent off and probably been banned and fined - given his 'previous.

dalglish, you dont like to see people sent off BUT,nine and a half times out of ten refs would have given a red card.

Joey Barton has admitted publicly today that he went down on purpose. I wonder if he should face a fine?

Definately

He's lucky to still be at a club like Newcastle after his recent antics

How much would you have to fine him for it to hurt and make sure he didn't do it again?
£5k? £10k? £20k?
Thats probaly less than a weeks wage for him.
If a player is found to deliberately cheat then the TEAM should have points deducted.
That would stop 'em

Don't know any decent supporter who agrees with cheating , but they seem to be growing in number on the pitch. And its spolin' it for those of us who love footie.
We're just as fed up as the anti-football brigade
Any measure to stamp it out is better than none. I think I like Douglas' suggestion of a points deduction for the team, rather than a relatively paltry fine. That'd stop it, no danger.
Fans can do something too.I was proud of the speccies at my club a year or two back when they started jeering one of their own miscreants for diving. He soon stopped.

Latest - Both Newcastle and Arsenal have both been charged with failing to control their players and Song has also been charged individually for stamping on Barton. However, there are no charges brought against Joey boy - even though he admitted publicly today that he had cheated.

There's no justice and the FA are as thick as pig muck!
