I thought you meant Tony Scully for a minute but obviously you mean Paul Sculthorpe.
PS It is not intended as a slight on Tony Scully.

If they have any sense it should be another Aussie. Has i said before on here some are good no2, and thats Wane. When was the last English person to bring trophys on a regular basis to Wigan. Joe Eagan late 50s early 60s?.

Not exactly regular but Clark/McInnes in 1985 and the late and great Eric Ashton in 1965 won challenge cups!
I agree that another aussie if available would fit the bill.

lestyn harris i hope not whats he ever done

Waney MUST be given a chance - but agree with you saintpat why Harris?
Why not another 'Wiganer' currently employed by the club - Radlinski/Hampson/Deacon

i thought Paul Deacon was signed on the understanding he would play for a year then join the coaching staff .so maybe he may be in the frame as assistant?

fordie how long have you been watching RL take a step back and take a look just what shaun as done at Wigan, is first job some time ago was finding good young players from around all ARLC he gave is time up for Wigan Shaun has been involved part-time with the Wigan Warriors Academy and Reserves Grade since 2003, initially as an Assistant before taking over the 18's fully in 2005.
In 2005, as Coach to the Under 18's, his side were the Championship Academy Grand Final winners beating Leeds at Headingly 33-22. Wigan finished top of the table in the regular season with thirteen wins from their fourteen games, some seven points clear of their nearest rivals, Widnes. In 2006, Wigan Under 18's reached the Grand Final again after another impressive season finishing fourth overall. Unfortunately, they were to lose the game against St Helens at Knowsley Road. In 2007 the Under 18's finished 3rd in the regular season and in the Play-Offs disposed of Salford and Widnes before losing to St Helens in a Final Eliminator. In 2008 with Shaun as Reserves Coach, the team finished second in the regular season and won the Grand Final with a victory over St Helens. In 2009, Shaun's Wigan Reserves side lost just once in the regular season and finished top of the table and were crowned Grand Final winners, so fordie and any other fans that think Shaun should not be given a chance take a look at what he has done. one thing that makes my blood boil is this guy is WIGAN BORN AND BREED and it’s about time we all stand by him he has never forgotten were it all started for him and he puts is hart on his sleeve
I for one will be standing by any Wigan lad that deserves a chance so well done shaun when you take over from MM.

Since 1950 uno. Thats your opinion i would not give it to him. If they do give it to him i hope im wrong. Im a Wiganer and WANT all Wigan teams to do well.

'Radlinski/Hampson'
What a combo these two would be.
Wigan would go backwards faster than the Italian army.
I'd go for Wane with a young up and coming Aussies as his number two.
IL seems good at spotting them..

fordhead you say you want all Wigan teams to do well so why do you think Shaun will not do a good job like I say he will do Wigan proud there’s not many local lads done what Shaun as done in there roll as a player and a coach so tell us why you think he’s not got the knowledge by the way you’re not Paparazzi by any chance because your comments lead me to believe you or they do the same thing as you, put or local players and coaches down so I am not sure you’re a proper FAN

number uno,
You really havn't got a clue, when you assume such crap as you post!
I have been fortunate enough to compete against Fordie in the past, really top of the local players in both sports he played in!
Do the people on here a favour and allow them to post an opinion about sport without your totally blinkered opinions
You were right before you edited your post fordie, another gobshite, trying to spoil the sports threads

No disrespect to Wayney, but the Aussie coaches do seem to have the edge on British coaches.Still, I'm not bothered who takes over, so long as they can keep the momentum going that we have at present.

Shaun Wayne has done brilliant both as player and coach, some people say bring in another aussie, when shaun has "served his time" from the bottom right to the very top, almost, give him a go and then judge him,I think he has earned it

Fossil now we have got someone who has some common sense (Kenny) we can have a proper discussion on the subject of backing or local lad who in my opinion will do a cracking job with the support of is back room staff. Maybe if you were a bit more loyal to your town because in my opinion on some of the post on her you jump from one team to another
