Why is there such a hatred between football and rugby fans? Its like chalk n cheese its a different sport for god,s sake. We are all Wiganers and should be proud of any success coming out of our town, i know i am. I would give my support to a successful tiddley winks team if there was one. Get together every1 and support both clubs and stop being ridiculous.

I beleive it's only the ones who have something lacking that have "hatred" over a sport or a football team/rugby team. Sad really.

I currently regard myself as a rugby supporter, in the past I´ve followed Latics. Whatever the contest...from a rugby match to a football match, from a darts match to a knitting contest, I would ALWAYS support a Wigan side over a side from anywhere else. That´s what being a Wiganer is about. The contest between a rugby team and a football team over who is the best and which side has the better supporters is ridiculous !

It all started about 20 years years ago, when Wigan Athletic wanted to share Central Park. Maurice Lindsey replied "Why would Wigan Rugby League Club, the best team in the world, want to share our ground with a third rate football team" I think there is a video of him saying this on the Net somewhere?

It's always the rose tinted fanatics that can only see one team or one point of view that seem to have a problem.The majority of fans of both codes naturally want their own team to win, but tend to look for the result of the other Wigan team.That's what all Wiganers should do....
