The guy on Radio Manchester reckoned no more that 11k..

Not the first time WiganRL has announced a suspicious attendance though..

I believe Wakefield didn't bring too many but this to my mind sums up WiganRLs problem. No matter how successful they are, they'll still have to play real minnows like Cats,Salford,Wakefield,Quins etc etc etc.

They are forever trapped by the lack of interest outside the M62 in their sport.

Even the Leeds Rhinos have a poor away following.A friend of mine was in Leeds when they were playing one of their grand finals,he said nobody was even watching the screens.Leeds United just totally dominate the city.

I was going to create another thread Fossil but i didn't want to spam the board.

Far to many frivolous threads about RL on here already.

The point about WiganRL being stuck within their sport still stands though.Maybe they should switch to RU.

I just can't see away of them breaking out of it.I'd love them to but i see them forever trapped.

I thought it was a reasonable crowd on a lousy night. and Trinity only brought about two dozen fans.
Rumour has it that Latics were there doing some scouting - apparently Sam Tomkins is a useful striker and could fit in a few games for the Latics next season.

I saw a photograph of the visitors end on FB and I would be surprised if there were a hundred fans in there.

I tried to count them, best estimate 77. At Harlequins last Saturday I would say about 2,000 Wigan fans in attendance. The away end tonight reminded me of the TV pictures from the Emirates Stadium last season when Latics played there, the little corner where the away fans sit was very scarcely populated

Good job, they get a good away following at the Latic's home games or else their average attendance would be less then the Warriors.

RD,if Saints and Warrington away following weren't included plus the mega 'freebees' given out for games like the 'big one ' what would WiganRls attendances be.

I made a serious point about WiganRL forever being stuck in this small RL pool.Try and address it,instead of taking the thread 'off topic'.Thanks.

Cross had a decent game, as you would expect on his debut but I think he could be a reasonable addition as the season come to a head.

Jay, time and again you say you support Latics and Warriors, yet when someone posts about the rugby you have this habit of getting a dig in.Please be honest and declare yourself a Latics only supporter....I am sure the Warriors can handle you not supporting them.

Got my ticket for next Saturday though for the HJ stadium for what should be the game of the season so far!

Farrie not you!
Seriously I hope your wife is getting better

Wigvet,
You are dead right, not one break in the game, and to listen to those two excuses for commentators made it worse.

You don,t need to market next weeks game,or the cup match against Warrington, the warriors are up against it,but who knows owt can happen

Bassman,i try and view RL in reality and not through 'rose tinted spectacle' like many do on here.

No matter how well WiganRL do,they'll be forever stuck with playing real sporting minnows.

they really cant say a lot kenny

a wigan team is winning and despite someone calling it a "minority sport" still getting decent, not laughable, crowds on

C'mon Jay, if a Wigan team won the world cup at marbles I think you would make a comment about something. I think you are mainly a Latics fan which is fair enough but any other sport, to you, is not good enough to measure up to your football.Just be happy that a Wigan team at this moment is doing well.Mi faither used to say, if tha cawnt sey owt good, then sey nowt at aw......
