Would love to know where the money for palacios and valencia went to?Whelan keeps saying that players money is spent on players .Think if i remember right we got 17mil for valencia and 9mil for palacios (could be wrong) and now we are arguing over 300,000 difference on a transfer for one of the best goalies around.Im wigan through and through latics and rugby , mostly latics ,but i still see the faults and a lot lie with the chairman. martinez is not only a manager ,He is whelans yes man .FACT

i am a true latics SUPPORTER i followed latics well before whelan came on the scene.Let me tell you he has reaped more profit than what he has put into the club.Managers such as paul jewel got wigan were they are along with dare i say it bruce rioch.Do you honestly think whelan scouts for the players himself?I will follow wigan athletic everywhere and anywhere but dont ask me to agree with Mr Whelans dealings.Wigan athletic are far far far bigger than him.

they havent stayed in prem for 7years through being financially solvent trev .they stayed there by scoring goals and winning games. If mr whelan would butt out a little and let the managers spend we would do a lot more in the prem dont you agree?

Replied: 29th Jun 2011 at 16:31

mr whelan is the paymaster and has such ,demands value for money.haggling is probably built into his persona ,still has his business head.to many clubs jumping in and not being able to balance the books, will likely be their downfall.

P.S. I have purchased twenty season tickets ( got a good deal off Dave ) They are being used as booby prizes at various events around Wigan and district, ( mainly district ) These events have been well publicised and we have had lots of Latics players saying, well, i would come and give some support but training and playing at the D.W. Is the only time i even come close to spending time in Wigan, so i'm glad they aren't involved really.
