Not Uniteds greatest night.

Started by: fossil (7728)

Unfortunately United came up against an excellent team Barcelona whose skill levels were better than anything I have seen previously at club level.
They murdered United through the midfield ,and as hard as they tried United were second best.
I thought Vidic and Ferdinand were as good as the Barca defenders and Rooney was head and shoulders better than the rest in his team, with very little assistance up front.
Although Giggs and Carrick have played well recently they looked completely off the pace in this match.

Is this the same Vidic who jumped out of the way holding his tackle to allow the Barca goal to fly into the net?

I just don't think they could handle the pace that Barcelona were passing the ball, and when they lost it they were harassing Utd.Apart from that Foss is spot on...

It seemed at times that Barcelona had a couple of extra players on the pitch. Their passing and movement was very good to watch. That Messi is something else.

He is the most skilful player I've seen Broady.

Of course we carry on believing it,... And as long as all the FOREIGN players stay here we can still keep believing it.

if that's so then the championship is surely a better league than the Premier League because it's more competitive.

Or have I lost the plot

United were outclassed by the skillfull play of the best club side in the world who play in the most skillfull league in the world, Le Liga!

It's time that some people on this website faced the fact that it's not all about who is the richest league but the most skillfull.

As for Sir Alex, the time has come for him to retire while United are at the top in this country.

p.s. Where are all the United supporters, crying in thir beer?

Ispy,
Just my opinion,I pay to watch premier league and enjoy every year!
And could you explain how the Championship is more competitive?
I know it has a different set up,but it is just another league with promotion and relegation.

"Or have I lost the plot"
You just may have

well done barcelona, fantastic team, never seen a club side as good, really enjoyed the match, lets not forget united won our league with ease when not playing well, barcelona will rule the champions league for years if they keep the same team, what does it say for the teams who finished under united. 19.not a bad number is it.
