A former chairman of Wigan Warriors who along with Jack Hilton, Tom Rathbone and Jack Robinson saved the club from bankruptcy at the end of the seventies and created one of the best periods of entertainment and success in the history of the club.

Also a former Chief Executive of the Rugby Football League who was responsible for the creation of Super League and the game being played mainly in the warmer days of the Summer on better pitches.

You will never be forgotten.

R.I.P Maurice.

RIP Maurice. Not many of the old guard left now who were responsible for the most successful period in the history of Wigan.

WNWanderer, I can thoroughly state that what that team did in going to Wembley 8 year's on the trot ( and winning them all) WILL NEVER EVER BE REPEATED ,I Regard that on similar lines to one of my hero's of GOLF ,and that is the GREAT JACK NICHOLAS in winning 6 green jacket's at the master's , Tiger Woods has come near but he will not reach what Jack N. Has done !!. GB

Golden Bear

Sean Edwards who was signed by Maurice Lindsay on his 17th Birthday was the only Wigan player to play in every round of the record eight successive cup final winning teams winning Wigan teams

Another record that will never be repeated.
