On the 21 st of February 1958 a great great player took his last breath in a hospital bed in Munich .
The air disaster claimed another victim.

Duncan Edwards, along with Bobby Charlton and Tommy Taylor were three of the best signings made by United in the pre 'Munich' era.

Strange indeed .
Duncan and Bobby were big big friends at Utd as youngsters .
Tommy Taylor was signed from Barnsley by Sir Matt
for the sum of £29.999.
He didnt want to be known as a £30.000 player .
And what a player .
Look at his scoring record for club and country.
Fabulous .

Grimshaw and Whups.

Not strange at all, just saying that they were three great players of the Busby era, as well as George Best of the post Munich era and the Class of 92 etc in the Ferguson era.

Commenting about about the United club, Managers, Players and its Owners is not just confine to its own supporters as you two seem to think.

It could be they think it "strange" that someone "fed up" with "the amount of United posts on here" can't stop posting about them.

Frecky,

The problem is that they don't comment about the present United, only about the past and how many trophies United have won, especially compared to City or just attack any anybody who dare to make comment about the present state of the club.

Would be nice for a chang to hear about what they as fervent United supporters think is now wrong at present day United.

Frecky,

If I stood in front of Whups and his gang and swore on a bible that I was not the person they think I am, they would still not believe me.

If they cannot tell the difference in what I say and what the person they think I am says, there is something wrong with their level of IQ.

Nobody needs to prove anything on these boards, everybody is entitled to their opinion,
One thing stands out with the posts is that freaky and owd codger must have a serious problem when it comes to united,

Thats only my opinion.

Tiger Cat

My only problem with United is seeing how a great club like they are is no longer the playing power it was in the past as a result of not being unable to recruit a top class winning manager like they have had in the past with Busby, Docherty and Ferguson and now not like they now have at City, Chelsea and Liverpool etc.

If other big clubs can do it, so should United!

Eyup, it must be TC's turn to peruse the boards and look for anything Utd that some of their fans don't like....Why are you lot still trying to exercise what you still think is a god given right to be top of the tree. Any criticism of them is answered by name calling or deflection off the facts.....I don't have a problem with Utd , just some of their arrogant fans....
That's my opinion
Freaky...

I did as a youngster when he was a member of the great 'Busby Babes' team.

Now that was a great United team and all British players!

So sad, what happened to it!

My mistake, as I forgot about Billy Whelan, but I think you will agreed that he was at least from the British Isles and not Europe.

And like you say, a great player!

Or at Shelbourne park and Harolds cross greyhounds.
My pal and myself visited Ireland a few years ago looking at greyhound pups .
We went into a pub in Kildare to ostensibly watch the England football team play on T V .
We politely asked if the T V could be switched on .
A young lady of aprox 20 years old who heard our request jumped up and shouted so the whole room could hear "F.ck the brits ".
Just saying .

My Wife and I went on a holiday all around the Republic and the only hostile comment we ever heard was by a old man in a Ballybunnion pub and everywhere we went, were made more than welcome. In Tralee, we had a great night of Irish Music and Songs with some local Irish people.

Even in Dublin, both on the holiday, weekends and another visit, when relatives and myself went to watch Wigan Warriors play Leeds Rhinos and again we were made welcome, especially around the pubs on Temple Bar.

In fact, many from the UK from the UK go for weekends to Dublin including Stag/Hen parties.

Rugby Union supporters also have a great time when they go to Dublin for a Six Nations game.

Seen more sectarian nastiness in Belfast!

p.s. You will always get a minority who are still living in 1922!

Good to hear but none of the Republic is in the UK. I worked and lived in Belfast in 1996 and 1998 so understand the hostilities. For good measure I lived in Blackrock ( just outside Dublin) for two years in 2001 and 2002. I also spent ten days touring North and South a few years ago. Donegal was the highlight of our tour.
