It goes further than Lam..old boys club

Ponderous, clueless and rudderless
But it is not down solely to Lam, although he has been bad; Any coach would struggle with that squad - so many bang average players, the over promoting of youth has proved foolhardy, many players with no rugby sense at all. Five drives and a poor kick and then give away stupid penalties and invite pressure. No leadership on the field whatsoever.
The fact that not one player of the present squad is not on the short list for the Man of Steel Award says it all about the season!
With Matty Peet and Shaun ‘the crowd slayer’ in charge next season – the outlook could not be bleaker

All i can add is to say that i am very saddened at the decline of this club , There has to be something terribly wrong for a club that last season was top and played in the grand final ,to go from that to the absolute despondency in a matter of just under 12 months .. I also feel for the die hard supporter's at this time who have stuck with them thro thick and thin ,but there has to come a time when one call's it a day ! I think that day is very, very near .... I don't know why such a club as Wigan does not attract the quality player's from abroad or local anymore it's all to easy to point finger's ,but where do we start to lay the blame someone has to be ACCOUNTABLE WHO?????? It's one thing to say " we are glad the season's over ,but in the space of 3/4 month's the new season will be upon us and where does " THE MIGHTY WIGAN WARRIOR'S GO FROM HERE ????? GB

I agree with Wigvet in that the very average players are unable to break the opponents line.
Kids with flair seem to be a very rare commodity as they grow older.

Exactly Wigvet and Fossil. What chance has a new coach if they scour the world for one. If I am correct Lockers and Tommy are already contracted on the coaching staff. Wane will be upstairs and Radlinski higher upstairs. He won’t even be able to choose what brand toilet roll they will use before matches.

Lockers…Tommy….wane….radlinski….yuk!!!

Hypothetical question Roy. If you could replace those 4, like for like with anybody in World Rugby, who would you choose ?

A complete change from the boys club…I suppose Leneghan would be in overall charge…not sure of Radlinskis role really….but coaching team would be headed by HKR’s Tony Smith and his back up team..with no history at the club…it’s going to take a couple of years

A new broom eh ?

Definitely there’s too much emphasis on defence,it’s important I know…but flair wins for me…leadership on the field and a great goal kicker essential

Flip side is only one try conceded in over 240 minutes but pity it had to be the only one in the game Still at least it wasn't Warrington's year

When you think of leaders, kickers, speed players and quality, we had it in spades, Lockers, Farrell, Frano, Edwards, Offiah, Lydon, Hanley, Inga et al, players like that don't come along every day

Peter g,
What are the 240 minutes? I am sure Catalan scored two tries in the previous game.
