There were no European games during the war because.........not only did trafford not play in Europe until the 50's but there was a war on.

You remember the war don't you?, it was in all the papers!!

Anyway, the little raggies played the Euro games at Maine Road in the 50's because their much richer neighbours had floodlights whereas trafford did not.

Nothing to do with the war.

But O T suffered bomb damage and didnt have floodlights for a long while and had to use maine road for the euro cup games in the 50 s.
The charge to utd was extortionate from the bitters who were v v envious of utd playing in the euro cup
They coudnt take us winning the cup in 68 and have shown the bitterness ever since .
I was fortunate to go to maine road to see utd play Anderlecht in 56 when we won 10-0 including a hat trick from the late great Tommy Taylor .

Pathetic.
You'll be lighting a candle for the lost income next.

Once again: £5,000 PER SEASON in 1941 = £176,473 in today's money. City obviously took pity on their poorer out of town neighbours.

If the little raggies didn't want to pay the going rate they always had the option of Burnden Park (which had a 70,000 capacity at the time) or elsewhwere.

Nobody was insisting that they used Maine Road and if they weren't happy they could have simply trundled off somewhere else.

As for the floodlights trafford didn't have them before the bombing so they didn't need replacing.

That's right Grim, pathetic.

Because your team is now rubbish you come up with the most stupid and pathetic straw grasps in the misguided perception that we give a hoot about what you lot think.

I already educated FP on the ins and outs of Leaseholds vs Freeholds and if you too wish to be educated sift through back threads, you might learn something.

Simple to say though that without us inheriting the council house, Sheikh Mansour would never have taken over. As a result of all of our wonderful foreign petrodollars City have kicked trafford's backside well and truly off their foreign shopping mall controlled perch.

I suspect that is why you are so bitter and twisted about the mighty Blues getting the Etihad. City rendering traffford irrelevant.

Suck it up!

BTW, are you aware of the reason City have declared their books as such without altering their year end and why trafford have deferred theirs? Thought not.

GB, City is self funding, Sheikh Mansour has not injected any money into the club for many years. That is why 20% of CFG was sold to Americans and Chinese companies.

City did not include money from transfers or Champs/Premier league revenue as they didn't have to, some would say in order to legally maximise their losses in the season in which UEFA stated that losses would possibly not be counted towards FFP due to the Pandemic. For FFP purposes those losses will be spread over two seasons. That is why everyone who knows anything has predicted that we will be back in profit next year and knows what has gone on, except yourself and Grim apparently.

Very clever our owner you see!

However, some clubs have deferred their year end and are not as switched on as our owners.

That is why we are top of the league and trafford are miles behind.
