Sad news about Sir Bobby.
One of the all time greats .

Sadly one of many to suffer with it, studies seem to associate it with the heading of the old style leather Casey balls.

i remember them well & you did,nt want to head the ball especialy on the lace because that was the worst hurt .

We were always told to head the ball with force, few of us did though, it hurt too much. Those old leather casy balls were heavy when wet.

Forgot to mention Sir Bob was a great player and a great ambassador for football.

but what of those thousands who suffer with this complaint & never headed a ball in their life ? .if they take heading out of football they might as well scrap the game completely.

Caseys used to be very heavy, especially when wet. The laces used to leave marks on your head when you headed them. Footballs today are little heavier than the flyaway balls used on the beach

What about pro boxing...surely worse than heading a ball

is this the same bobby charlton who refused to go to his own mothers funeral,touted tickets and would never sign autographs for fans?

i can absolutely say that,s wrong as my parents dropped on sir bob in manchester & got his autograph for me . so your wrong again LIAR.

Back in the day .Very well back, i was at anfield to watch a England under 23 game .It was a midweek evening game .
Bobby had been selected but got injured playing for UTD the previous saturday .
He arrived with a pal aprox 45 mins before kick off .
Fans ran to his car to get his autograph .
He stood for almost 30 minutes signing and never refused anyone .

Sir Bobby went through, and saw, things no one should ever have to see. He chose his wife and children over his Mother for reasons made public over the years, as most of us would. I can only applaud him.
A wonderful footballer, and a gentleman to boot.

We can all be allowed to feel out of sorts now and then, and we can all be rude on our off days.

I can vividly recall Munich Thursday and what i was doing on that fateful day. No doubt many many others can so what you are saying is a load of nonsense .
Bobby witnessed that horrendous day at close quarters and to then have the great career he had is testament to his character .
