Wasn't he in a local group in the 60s? I remember going to the Room at the Top and I'm sure there was a group on with Bob McKinley as lead singer, but for the life of me I can't remember the band's name. Anyone?

Didn't Bob McKinley write a song called "The Letter" and had it recorded? You know what, I'm sure I've still got that 45 at home. It's driving me nuts now trying to think of the name of the group. I'll have to sift through them all, over the weekend, if no one can remember the group. Thinking caps please!

The Letter was a hit for the Mindbenders don’t know if it was the same version but a group by the name of The Long and the Short had a song with the same title. Two of the group had long hair and two had short hair hence the name of the group.

Interested to read your blogs. Can anyone out there put me in touch with my old pal Bob McKinley. I'm the other side of the country from Wigan and would appreciate any help. Don't know (the)Thomas Gerrard mentioned in the blogs.
