Hi Daghda, I went to Convent from 1969-72 and am racking my brains to remember a Susan O'Laughlin but can't picture a face. I will check with my sister(s, the name has an Irish ring to it as has my maiden name (O'Neill) so I am sure we would know them. Good Luck. I was in Tichbourne house.

Hello Ozzielass
I remember Susan O'Neill from Tichborne, and Maria Cleary, Brenda Mercer, Olive Taylor, and lots of others I always became sort of friends with Brenda and went to her house a couple of times I think she was from Liverpool originally but had moved to somewhere near Orrell, do you remember her, are you Susan O'Neil? If you are I think I whacked your thumb when we were playing your house at hockey!!!!Did your sisters go to the convent?

No daghda, I am not Susan but Sheelagh O'Neill, I am 50 yo this year if that is any use to you. So I would have been in first year at the Convent about 1969. Don't recall any of the names you mentioned so they must have been before or after. I was in Tichborne House and I think it was a Sister Marion was the Headmistress or Sister Superior did they call her? I remember Mr. Taylor (music), Sister Patricia (science) Ms. Bretherton (English), Mis Gawkroger (bus/sh hand/typing) Mrs. Hutchence, or Hutchison (maths) Mrs. Barker also Maths and two sisters who were "Sisters" whose names escape me but one did Maths and one did English and they literally put the fear of God in anyone who spoke in their lessons. Oh and Ms. Rynn (RL). What a shame I don't have a single photo of any of the classes I was in or the actual building. Didn't seem important then.
