Hey aitch.

You could be right antontrip depends which way or where you insert it to get the best results for whatever (the word I mean).

Stop it! Don't start all that again. You start out with tongue-in-cheek jibes at each other and then it all snowballs. And yes, enigma is spelt correctly. Now behave yoursells.

How can Wigan possibly have a statue of tonker when we dont even know who he is?

Baaaad boys. Smack hands and legs. DD -Tonker wouldn't want to be immortalised in bronze in Wigan because he's not a Wiganner, are ya Tonks? He be an Ashtonian (is that correct)so strictly speaking Tonker's statue should stand in the middle of A-in-M. D'ya know wot? It's only just occurred to me. I've lived in these here parts all my life (more or less) an'av never bin to A-in-M town centre. Wot's it like Tonks? Do tell. Serious question.

That's believable.
I've met, recently, a trainee solicitor who lives in Springfield, Wigan, who told me that he'd been no further 'that way' than Haydock Park Racecourse. He hardly knew Ashton area, never been to Golborne or Warrington and why?, well, it's because he has everything he needs right on his doorstep in Wigan. He's been to America, Spain, Italy etc. even London, on the train. I mean, a solicitor, who doesn't have a car, 'because I don't need one'!? Now he's no 'thicko', but he's got, like a lot of others, a 'small town mind'. But, after all, he's a Wiganer, so he can be excused for that. I guess theres plenty in Ashton who've never been to Wigan, in fact I know there are plenty in Leigh who haven't, but you try telling a Wiganer that, and they won't believe you.

I can believe that too Tonker, but you haven't answered my question. What kind of shops are there in Ashton. This is not a wind up, honestly. I'd like to know. For example, are there any decent shoe shops - proper ones? There's not one decent shoe shop in Wigan except for McNulty's. I know they're a bit pricey but I'd like to have more than one decent shoe shop in the immediate area instead of having to travel miles to get myself shod.

Ashton, St. Helens, Liverpool, Manchester, Blackpool, Southport, Warrington, Morecambe, Wigan etc. I've shopped at all these places and more, you can get everything you need in most of them but it makes a nice change to try somewhere different, each of these places has friendly people, well i've had no problems with any of them. Not bad for someone with "small town mind"

Anton
He scares me too!
I bet that you wouldnt like to meet this lady on a dark night.
This should be a warning to men, 'never get too drunk, so much so that the beer goggles are on'
And to women, never go for plastic surgery, just grow old disgracefully!
This lady once looked so normal.
