Indentured servants sailing from Wigan to Virginia
Started by: GoreMarsden (3)
I'm trying to find out more about people who sailed to Virginia in the 17th and 18th centuries. Amond these was a group of people from the Wigan area who in 1698 travelled from Liverpool on the ship Concord under the command of John Walls and "bound to" Ezekiel Parr. You can see a list of these people here: https://dn790009.ca.archive.org/0/items/listofemigrantst00bost/listofemigrantst00bost_bw.pdf
Has anyone carried out their own research into links with America and indenture? (Perhaps someone has found, as I have, that they have DNA matches pointing to ancestors/lateral lines in what became the US?) I would love to hear more and would value any insights people may have.
