John Isherwood and/or Walter Bayman

Started by: Plomax (3)

Hi

I am buying a house in Greenways, Standish and the previous owners have told me the leaseholder no longer comes round the collect the ground rent. On the title deeds the names John Isherwood and Walter Bayman are listed but am unable to find much online. The owners said John used to collect in person the rent and hasn't done so in 5 years so it would be great to find if the leasehold has been passed onto another family member or company to help resolve any issues going forward.

Thanks
Peter

The solicitor for the current owners should have the title deeds which will include the land owners details.
Alternatively, unless the current owners have lived there for a long time, the Land Registry will have the details on file and will sell you a copy of the register entry. Not that long ago it was about £6 a copy, now it's three times that price.

Hi, the land registry only lists the names not their address or company information. Thats why I thought I would try to message boards to see if anyone knows them or their relatives.

There’s only one John Isherwood on the electoral roll in Wigan. The last entry was in 2017 listing him as living in Scholes with his wife Sheila. They’ll both be in their 80’s.
If your email address is on file at WW I’ll email the address to Ron for forwarding.

"I am buying a house in Greenways, Standish"

Are you having a solicitor to do the transfer for you?

If so, your solicitor could tell you. They should find this out from HM Land Registry and it should be done as part of the package.
