Platt Waz

Where does the name come from, use to live there but the only people that called it platt waz lived somewhere else (?)

That has bugged me for years to, heres another...stubshaw cross, have heard this called "slutchy cross" ????

Platt Bridge is known to Wigan folk colloquially as "Platt Waz" originating from the fact that it was a comfort stop for the coal train drivers

try drinking twelve or so pints of bitter or if u can do it lager then try saying platt bridge then u get the general idea why its called platt waz
