Hi Dougie. Sorry, I don't remember a Russ. Although I do remember a tiny tot being in the house when I went to visit Ian. I too always thought that Benny was their father.

Russ was a mate of mine we were always fishing ,playing darts ,drinking in the Star.Benny was in the dominoes team. We always thought Benny was his father. Thinking now about the age difference you could be right about Benny being his grandfather. Never seen anybody drink as many Old Chester as Benny. Stay safe.

As regards to the Star Hotel. In the 40s my grandad Dick Hunter was a regular in there. The landlord then was Joe Pearson who had a daughter Gaynor.

Hi Brian, Remember Benny telling us about a wild Orchid that he found over the three sisters but wouldn't let it be known so you may not know, talking years back here no one would have seen an Orchid at that time, said he would only go over once a year to look so as not to leave any tracks and would never show anyone but knowing Benny we would be leave him

Well, I am still here, so having got away from being in sight of the Three Sisters must have helped. But a Lancashire Lad I shall always be.
