Any Kitt Greeners remember...

I'm wondering, mainly for those who live or lived in the Kitt Green area, if anyone remembers a chap who worked for the police and kept a Bloodhound that he used for the police?. My uncle told me this years ago (going back into the late 90s) and knew someone (though at the time he wasn't sure if the chap in question still lived in the area). I was quite surprised to hear that a breed such as a Bloodhound were used as police dogs, especially in Wigan (I'm assuming he worked for the local dept). He seemed sure the dog was a police dog and not a pet of his. He used to see him out walking it on occasion, though I can't recall where about's he lived only that it was Kitt Green.

Anyone remember him?
