Baps has always been an abbreviation for barm cakes as far as I can recall, or were they like a small soft dinner role.

It depends where you are in the country britboy. Here is Suffolk, they have no idea what a barm cake is, here it's a bap.

My father was from Wales and he used to call them a batch, which if I remember rightly was also a huge barm cake with lines from the centre for dividing it like you would a cake.

YES joanne thats the shop they have the lease for three years and with the planning of market place to start in 2016 for a beleive in better wigan should bring a bit of custom for them .
