Morrisons Ince

Started by: TerryW (inactive)

Date given for closure is the 3rd of November. Not often I use the shop but it will be hard for the locals I suppose.

Sign of the times.

Very sad. it’s not a bad little store.
We usually call in on Saturday afternoon for some bits-and-bobs.
I suspect Tescos at Hindley have seen them off.

The rise of the 'chep' supermarkets continues.

I for one, will NOT be shopping in Lidl or Aldi...

Over my dead body!

Indeed he has. Perhaps he could visit the far more convenient M&S,down at the nightmare which is Robin Park on a match day.

I go to the Chorley Morrisons, it is a nice ride out, and it is a nice store, and it is on the Wigan side of Chorley, before yoo get to Chorley Town Centre, the Leigh one is a nightmare to get too

I’m confused as to why letriclegs comment has been removed. He merely passed comment that Jarvis had been seen frequenting Aldi or Lidl when Jarvis quite clearly states that he wouldn’t pass over the threshold.

For the record........ I’ve also seen Jarvis in Lidl at the end of Enfield Street. Are we both liars?

Maybe Ron could tell me which rule I broke.

I don't seem to recall one that says thou shalt not call Jarvis a liar.

Seems unfair to me too. There was nothing wrong with the comment, lectriclegs was merely telling the truth.
Jarvis has been seen in Lidl, on more than one occasion.

Now while he appears to be a shopping snob 😂 He is not quite so discerning when it comes to his choice of watering holes. 😂

TTS if you want to go to Leigh Morrisons you can go from Wigan through Hindley to the top of Atherleigh way turn right and then Morrisons is on the left facing Leigh sports village. 10 mins extra journey time from Wigan. Or use the A580 (east Lancs Rd) to Atherleigh way and Morrisons is on your right

You try any of those two routes at any time other than when it is quiet, and it will take yoo longer than 10 minutes extra, in fact the Higher Ince store was a nightmare to get to, and for months and months now, Manchester Road and Atherton Road have had several lots of roadworks on them, severely delaying the traffic

Travelling from Lower Ince to Leigh doesn’t tend to be that bad, we could be there in 20 minutes.

TTS as I have posted IF YOU USE Ince Morrisons on a regular bases then it is only 10 mins extra from Manchester road to Leigh. I live on the outskirt of Ashton and go via Lane head onto the A580 and go down Atherleigh Way there in no time. Dont forget going this way you can carry on and go onto Parsonage retail park were you have all the major retail storesIf I wanted to go to Chorley Morrisons I would have to go via Platt Bridge Lower Ince Wigan and Standish or Poolstock Wigan Standish. It depends where you live and are prepared to do the EXTRA. Golborne Asda is 5 mins from my house but sometimes we will go to Sainsburys

Well fare enuff, if yoo live at that end of Wigan (sorry tonker) then the Leigh Morrisons is going to be easier for you to get to, from Lower Ince if there is no traffic, then it is a straight forward run, but both ways you have loads of traffic lights to go through, I like going to Chorley because it is a nice ride out, country lanes, and fresh air
