walshy i remember the sherridens they used to live on norley also the oneils they have a shop on our estate spud [Lorraine] was a freind of my sister . also the Arnolds i know Doreen very well Talk to her reguler she lives most of the Time in Ireland now mad as a wasp she is lol..

I had a date or two with Spud, RBilly. She wa s abit older than me, and had very short hair, but she was Beautiful.
Another very pretty girl I dated on Norley was a Girl called Dorcus(sp) Doherty.

Montrose , Thats were worsley Haller's built there Bommey only for us Norley Haller's to burn it down for them , I remember a good night out would be Bommey raiding .
Only for it to be stolen back teh following night lol

kath it just depends on were you class as being Montros ave as it goes all the way up to the top. from Scott lane end up to City Road across there are a few pubs there is that were you are thinking of The Brook house IS just as you turned on your left and the new inn is practley oposite to the right.. I remember that gazzer thing is the norley lads used to build ther bommies at the back of our house in between Dorset close and somerset road and many a night we would wake up and the bommy was on fire ther was black smoke all over the place coming from all the tyres the lads had collected .i remember some of the lads made a den under the bommy so they could protect it .. from the enemy lol my mum used to say to use dont you be going in that den it is not safe what if it gets set on fire ... we did not see the danger then it was just exiting used to be gangs of us at night sat around it having a laugh.. dont see it know we knew how to enjoy our selves back then we did not need x boxes or game boys or puters ha ha happy days ... would not be allowed now would it i remember the bonfires being built they were as tall as the houses the lads used to get ladders to pilr things on top the bigger the bettter and they burned for days after the 5 th of november the things we did it makes me cringe now and i would not let my kids do it lol

RB do you remember baking spuds on the campfire that was a traddition every night before Bommey night ?. They were black and horrible but we all ate them lol

brought up on the bottom end of worsley hall matheson drive, was best mates with tony carney,also mated with the causeys,crowes myers's darbyshires molyneux,s speakmans ect,used to love raiding against the marsh greeners on the big field also spent many a happy hour rummaging on the gant for tea cards ect

kath we used to play on the little trucks that carted the sewerage to this day i've never been ill, i must be immune to all diseases after playing in all that shite!

i lived on drummond square use to knock around with pea murphy coco bri readey had some good times especially in the summer playing rugby in the sreet till late good times

kath That smell, that used to come all the way up Montrose Avenue, especially in the hot weather was from Gallaghers bone works at the other side of the sewage pad.

yes billyh I was home to see my mum who has since passed a way. Been in Oz now for 27 years and it's a great lifestyle but I still miss family and friends but hey that's the choice you make Hope you and yours are all well.
