Yes Zoe. it is awful news. Steve Irwin lived his life surrounded by dangerous animals .He loved the job that he did. I liked him because he was so energetic and you could tell that nothing got him down.As well as his love of crocs he was a conservationist.
When i first heard, i thought that it might have been an accident with crocodiles. When i heard it was by a stingray i was shocked has being killed by one is extremely rare, especially to be pierced in the heart, they usually attack by piercing the foot as i have heard they lie on the seabed.
My Deepest sympathies go out to his family.

What a shock, The man died as he lived, doing what he loved risking everything to preserve nature.

Im sorry if this sounds insensitive, but is anyone really suprised by what has happened.I dont know about everyone else, but I thought he took too many risks with dangerous animals just to make entertaining TV shows, and to make himself a rich and famous celebrity.
I feel sorry for his family and the little child(remember him holding his baby whilst feedind a hungry Croc')who will never know their Father.

I'm sure that he will be really missed; a natural educator and a really keen conservationaisy who used his natural talents to underline the need for conservation and make it all fun!

Feel so much for his family at this time, RIP Steve

Well I didn't like him for messing about with animals the way he did in the name of entertainment. I can't stand anything like that. Does anyone remember the time when he held his baby over the gaping jaws of a crocodile. I don't think he was quite a full shilling.

It is an awful shame has i have said before about the loss of Steve Irwin. But i have since found out that stingrays only attack when antagonised to the extreme limits.Deaths from this creature are extremely rare.It make you wonder whether or not the creature was provoked.
