Having just seen a child fall I picked herup and patted her and said " There -There" ,and now wondering where did that ex[ression come from ? I suppose its sort of a compassion, in any case it did stop the child crying

Its nice to be able to show compassion for a child who fell over but dangerous. you can be accused of anything these days and I certainly would not do it unless there were extreme cause.

What is the world coming to if you cannot console a child, whose mother were so busy talking to some one , they didnt even notice , as you say sometimes you have to hesitate ,but I cannot bear seeing a child cry ,I could have been anyone and taken that child and then the next thing the mother would have been on T V saying "I only took my eyes of her for a min" I must have been with that child for at least 4 mins and she still didnt bother although the child was crying
