getwom, i agree people do change over time. Little Johnny or Jilly that may have been your best mate at school could be now some sort of nutcase.I think it may be best to move forward. Happy memories do make you feel good, but times and people change and you will never get those days back.

hi disco diva i joined friends.it was the main reason i got the computer.i found a cousin of my husband's that was a bridesmaid at our wedding.i had not seen her for about 38yrs.it was lovley and the reason we lost touch was because my husbads family cut her out of the family and so her also.now time has passed ,her mum is dead and she grew up not knowing some of her cousins.
i also found a girl i had worked with,we lost touch when she and her husband parted,i had phoned him and he told me he did'nt know where she was.she had not changed(apart from us both getting older) and we phone and email each other.sometimes jobs move people.i married and went to live in manchester then macclesfield.if you don't the person you find you can always lose touch again and for what it costs if you want to really find someone i think it's worth it.you need to put in the maiden names of girlfriends.try it and see how you go.

I agree with getwom on both his assertions over people changing over time etc. I still see some of my former friends in the street, but don't choose to introduce myself to them, maybe they see it as the same.

I contacted a old school friend 40 years on and it is lovely listening to the luxury lifestyle she has. Weekends in Dubai sailing their boat on the Thames and visiting their villa in Portugal. It certainly makes my day when I get her emails and so glad she such a good life.

I found quite few people from my schooldays on Friends but only four replied to my messages even though I'd known some of them quite well as a young person.I had brief correspondence with someone who read my letter to the Lancashire Evening Post but otherwise despite the number of people I had contact with during my 28years living in England I seem to have lost contact with many in the intervening years. As has been said folk change over the years and we may just have to regard as so many memories.

I joined with a view to trying to find an old friend, who I was told had gone to America, never did find them, but now Im being innundated with emails from the site for dating matches, dont know why as I never asked for this service and cant seem to get rid of it.Ive put it on my blocked senders list but still they come on. Genes reunited is another with the same problem.(by the way I paid for both these sites)

name address and the years i lived there. also the schools i attended, places i was gainfully employed, but zilch, nothing, so i have construed that i am a surviving soul from the heady days of youth.ahhhh, if they only knew what they are missing!!!!!but maybe they are looking down on little ol me and saying the same thing.
