What is up with families?

Started by: madamehmurray (6273)

My parents don't care for my hubby at all, well maybe because they couldn't pick him out. If you love someone, really love someone it shouldn't matter what other people think. I told them over and over again, that I love him and I truely do and there is nothing that they can do about it.

parents are funny old things and i made the same mistakes with my youngest son.he has been with his partner for 11yrs since they were 14 and because of things they did at school it turned us against her and it caused endless touble. they now have 4 children and things have been tough for them and i must admit that alot of it was our fault. my husband still hates her but i get on with her ok now.like i said to my husband he has to live with her not us and as long as he and the kids are happy thats what matters.he once told us that it was us or her and i knew he would choose her and i din,t want to loose my son so we all know where we stand.

My ex in laws didn't care too much for me.Middle class southern snobs that they were.
16 years later when I ended up divorced through no fault of my own, they changed their tune. They now realise how bad they were in particular ex mother in law, who spent entire time she was alone in my company wearing headfones so she could ignore me!!
I didn't put a foot wrong, and still don't, this gives me the upperhand as it shows them up for what they are.I make sure they see their grandchildren, get copies of school reports and are foned regular etc etc.But I have chosen not to have contact with them myself since I divorced, I owe them nothing. But they have a right to see my children all the same.
Everybody should live their life and make their own mistakes, thats how we learn. But keep things sweet as much as you can cos we can't replace our parents.

we didn't say owt to our daughter about our true feelings. Even paid for the wedding. He eventually hit our daughter and went to court for it. We is still paying for teh wedding three years later, and she is still stuck in the same council house as him as the council won't rehouse her. The wedding loan is up next February or so.

Even though I don't really like one or two, I try very hard to be decent, for, as they make my "children" Happy, thats O.K. BUT if they ever REALLY hurt them--I am standing in the Wings -- like a TON OF BRICKS.lol.
