Started by: aitch (5487)

The other night I was watching TV the QVC channel and they were advertising christmas decorations, didnt think anything about it at the time but on tuesday I spotted a small paragraph in the Daily Mirror which said and I quote "Harrods launches its Christmas range today and Selfridges will follow suit on thursday" now am I getting old or does the festive season seem to be starting earlier than ever

It's the same here and because it's summer in Oz at Christmas time some of the diehard traditionalists even have what they call "Christmas in July" so they can have their little rituals in the cold weather. Not only does the advertising start early for Christmas but this year some of the large supermarkets where pushing Easter fare 2nd week of January, nothing to do with the meaning of these festivals for those who believe, just profit, profit and yet more profit.

Spring View Community Sports Association Complex has a large grassed 10 acre site. Someone has mentioned that it would be a good idea to hold a morris dancing competition on the land next summer as apparently good venues are hard to find. Does anyone know who to contact regarding this?

Hope someone out there can assist.
