Disabled parking

Started by: jeremyb (616)

There was an article in last week's local press about a disabled driver who was complaining about having to pay to park his car. Whilst I agree there should be spaces provided why should he not pay ?

As a disabled driver myself,I have no objection for paying to park, providing my parking fee is used to clamp non-disabled drivers misusing the spaces....

I dont see why disabled drivers shouldnt pay the same as the rest of us, I agree that they should have the spaces closest to the place they wish to visit but they should definately pay .

"shouldnt pay the same as the rest of us"

Disabled drivers should not pay for parking, not never no no no

"No One" should have to pay to park a car, the goverment and councils already get enough out of us in all kind of Taxes
When charges were first introduced in this country no one should have agreed to pay
Its enough with petrol and road tax to maintain a road all the way to the Moon

On the same theme why should over sixties get free bus passes when most of them are still working?

JJ, do petrol and road tax go to central government, and parking fee's to local government?

I agree with disabled parking spaces, but also think they should pay.

Most parking charges now go to private companies

councils dont want to upgrade so they put the spaces out to tender

I wouldnt mind so much if we got an audit saying how much was received and exactly where it was spent

I wonder if my past parking charges and fines went to pay for the local councils get together meals each month.

so
come on Wigan where does the money go?

One thing i do like about some parking areas, the money you pays ensures an attendant, cctv, etc, a little bit of ease of mind at least !

back to the original thread. i am amazed at the number of young people i see with the parking disc???they must hand these things out like invitations.i know they are a valuable asset. a guy at the center told me they could fetch big bucks in london, birmingham, manchester. i refer to stolen ones.

Lol, sounds like your decribing yourself 'Tack'.

I'll try and explain my previous comments and get this thread on course.

As jeremyb stated "There was an article in last week's local press about a disabled driver who was complaining about having to pay to park his car"

This, i presume, meant a physical car parking space, NOT a permit or such.

Then you 'blather' about sending back ?? If thats what you meant, (sending a permit back) make it plainer.

P.S. - Is a permit a right or a privilage ?

'Tack', What ARE you on ??? Medication?, grog? weed? or what?.

Please adhere to your own advice and stick to the topic, namely 'Disabled Parking'.

If you feel the need to: -

A. Have a go
B. Call your mates in (P.S. - Who is the pack now ????)
C. Talk because no-one else will

Create a new thread, not ruin this one, I will gladly reply.
